Mississauga sits right beside Toronto, and it shows in the buildings. Glass condo towers stand near older townhouse rows, and newer subdivisions keep spreading outward. Each kind of home has its own pest story.
Pest control in Mississauga: how we work
We use four steps: inspect, identify, treat, follow up. First we find where the pests are and what they are. Then we plan treatment to fit your home, and we check in afterward.

What pests are common in Mississauga
- Ants in spring, especially around decks, patios and kitchens.
- Mice in fall, when cooler nights push them toward warm buildings.
- Wasps in summer, near mature trees and eaves.
- Bed bugs and cockroaches in multi-unit buildings, where they can travel through shared walls.
Homes in Mississauga and the pests they tend to see
- Condo towers in areas like City Centre and Port Credit: bed bugs and cockroaches.
- Older townhouses and semis, such as those in Cooksville and Malton: mice in basements, plus gaps where pipes enter.
- Newer subdivisions like Erin Mills and Meadowvale: new homes settle, and small gaps can open that mice use.
Homes near the Credit River and Etobicoke Creek valleys, with their mature trees, can see more wasps and rodents.
Renting in Mississauga: who is responsible?
Peel Public Health says bed bugs are not considered a public health risk, but they are unpleasant. If you are unsure that an insect is a bed bug, an inspector there can answer your questions. Peel also says that treating them usually needs pesticides that only licensed professionals should apply.
Tenancy rules come from the province. Under Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act, your landlord must keep your unit in a good state of repair. If your landlord does not act on a pest problem, the Landlord and Tenant Board can hear the dispute.
What to do:
- Tell your landlord in writing, with photos and dates.
- Give them a reasonable time to respond.
- If nothing happens, look into the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Our page on bed bug treatment explains what treatment involves.

Smart steps for Mississauga homeowners
If you own your home, a little prevention goes a long way.
- Trim branches back from your roof so wasps and rodents have less to use as a bridge.
- Check the foundation, garage door seals and vents for gaps. New homes often need this after the first few seasons, as they settle.
- Wipe up sweet spills and crumbs around patio doors to give spring ants less to follow.
- Store firewood and garbage bins off the ground and away from the house.
Do you need a licence to treat your own home? Ontario rules on pesticide use are set by the province, and the stronger products are for licensed professionals. For bed bugs, Peel Public Health says only licensed professionals should apply pesticides. If in doubt, ask us before you buy anything.

Common questions

In Ontario, pesticide sales and use are regulated by the province. Peel Public Health says only licensed professionals should apply pesticides for bed bugs. Ask any company you hire for its licence details.

Do you serve Port Credit?
Yes. We serve Mississauga, including Port Credit. Add your neighbourhood to the quote form and we will confirm the details with your quote.
How fast is the quote?
We send quote details within 30 minutes of your request. After that, we talk through the problem and the next step with you.
